Penguins Vs. Possums Issue Number Two continues the age-old tale of these two species and their fight for supremacy. After the events of Issue One, which saw the San Diego Possum colony shattered and the Penguins without their emperor, all has been quiet. The two sides are taking their time to mourn before the war continues.
Xiao, the only son of the Penguin Emperor, watched his father die at a Possum’s hand at the climax of the last issue. He now leaves his home to bury his father using the old ways. The family burial chamber is hidden deep in the ice cliffs of Antarctica. Xiao has made the perilous trek to the burial site and makes his way inside.
Tributes to fallen warriors and leaders line the halls of the burial chamber. Xiao will end up here one day, buried by his own son. He uses the ever-burning torch to encase his father in ice, a final tribute to a great Penguin.
The deed is done. The son must now go home to claim the throne. But will it be his to claim when he gets back?
