So, I scoured the internet looking for web comics, hoping to find that rare gem that strikes a chord with the reader and makes them return for seconds and thirds. What I found was a little site, where there resides a comic called Questionable Content.
Questionable Content is the story of Marten Reed, a socially awkward young man with emo tendencies who’s trying to find his way in the world- a world where he has a job he can’t stand, no chance with a girl he likes, a best friend who is as inept socially as he is, and a toy robot that girls like much more than they do him.
As an exploration of the pitfalls of the young adults in today’s society, Questionable Content is witty and charming. It has an, almost, hypnotic quality about it which made this reader keep on to the next page, even when, in the beginning, there appears to be nothing special about it. Much like watching an episode of “Friends” sprinkled with a hint of “Jay and Silent Bob,” and featuring a tiny robot named Pintsized, who’s much nore adept with women than his human could ever be, this web comic made me laugh at the pitfalls of awkwardness faced by the young, somewhat emo, young people trying to make it in today’s world. Questionable Content gets my vote for an entertaining read. Definitely thumbs up.
Join me next week my friends.
