excited surprised to be back this week with another installment of Wednesday Knight’s Haul. As a reminder to everyone, this is a quick post each Wednesday night about what I bring hom from the comic book store. Normally, I only bring home stuff that I’ve ordered but I also check the shelves to see what came to the store that I might have missed.
Tonight’s book that I missed ordering but caught on the shelves was The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse by Simon Bisley and Michael Mendheim. I’m a metalhead from from my youth when the first cassette I bought with my own money was Iron Maiden’s Piece of Mind so I was also naturally inclined to read Heavy Metal Magazine for the dark and often gruesome fantasy. I’ve never been a regular reader of Heavy Metal Magazine but I’ve come back to it often enough to have discovered a regular in the book, Simon Bisley. But normally, he’s the artist so when I saw that he was writing The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, I had to give it a try.
The one book to come out this week that did catch my eye when ordering through Diamond Previews was Ed Brubaker and Sean Phillips’ Fatale, Death Chases Me. As I’ve said before, I’m a fan of Brubaker and Phillips, they always bring something exciting to noire comic books. I look forward to cracking this one open to see if they keep up the hype but also sharing it with a few buddies at work that have also really dug previous works by this amazing team.
OK, done for this Wednesday. All fingers crossed, I’ll be back next Wednesday, July 4th for another post of Wednesday Knight’s Haul. Never Enough Said.
