The cupboards are bare. Not a thing to share. I order a lot of books – it’s what I do. I love the comic book medium but specifically I love indie comics but tonight when I walked into Legacy Comics and Cards in Glendale CA, they had nothing for me. As Narut, behind the counter said, “It was a small week and most of them were mainstream.” So I checked the shelves to see if maybe I had missed something in the pre-order. But no, there was nothing. It’s a sad state in indie comics when, in an industry the size of comic books, the only thing to hit the shelves is by The Big 2. So, what it means to you is that my post tonight will be shorter than normal and what it means to me is moving on to writing another review of some hot indie title that I bought at Comikaze this past weekend – this week’s Previews arrivals made me particularly glad that I bought so many books directly from the creators over the weekend. So – the moral of the story is, “Buy indie comics when you can.”
