On WRITING FOR ROOKIES EPISODE #15: Interview with Dale Wilson of BuyIndieComics.com, I got a great chance to have a fun and engaging conversation with Brandon Easton. Brandon has a genuine interest in continuing to learn the process and world of writing by talking to other professionals and sharing these conversations with the world and I genuinely appreciate this. I was actually excited when, a few weeks ago, Brandon mentioned my being on his podcast and I’m glad to have it posted here at BuyIndieComics.com.
One thing I want to mention about the interview is how it all worked out. I’ve actually known Brandon for less than a year but I’ve known about him for a while now – he and I have mutual friends including the myth that introduced us: Geoffrey Thorne. I met Geoff through indie flag bearer, Robert Roach. And as I talked about in the interview, I met Roach by going to a local comic book store, Legacy Comics & Cards where I met him doing what I wanted to do: selling his creator owned comic books. What’s the point of this timeline? Something I cannot stress enough, you cannot dance if you don’t go to the prom. Indie creators of all mediums must get out and meet people, press the flesh, shake hands.
OK – I’ve written enough for now – give the interview a listen and then subscribe to Brandon’s podcast cause if you’re a writer, it’s worth your time and if you’re a fan of comics, it’s just fun.
